Shazam Control Center Iphone

Following the recent public release of iOS 14, the beta developer of the next iOS 14 update, iOS 14.2, was almost immediately announced by Apple. Apple added a dedicated tile to its music recognition tool with this update, Shazam for the iOS control center. And here’s how you can install the tile and start remembering songs in your control center.

Shazam In Ios Control Center

The Shazam button is now active and will be moved to the “Included Controls” section. Tap and hold on the corresponding three-line handle to rearrange the “Music Recognition” button’s placement in the Control Center. Go to the “Control Center” menu. Scroll down to find the “More Controls” section. In this list, you will now find a new option called “Music Recognition”. Tap the green “+” button beside this option to add it to your control center. Apple is set to add the music discovery app Shazam to the iPhone's Control Center, allowing users to easily identify new music. The song appears in a notification that users can tap to listen. Adding the Shazam Button to Control Center The Music Recognition control is opt-in, so you'll need to add it manually. Open the Settings app, tap 'Control Center,' then scroll to the More Controls section under the Included Controls.

Now, bear in mind that this feature is only available in the iOS 14.2 developer and public beta that I am running on my iPhone X at the moment. So, for those running the software’s official update, just wait a few days for iOS 14.2 to be released officially.

If, however, you are running the current iOS public or developer beta on your Apple device, then in the control center you will certainly check out the new “Shazam” tile.

How to Add Shazam in Control Center

So, first, let me tell you how to connect a tile to your control center, because by default, it won’t be there.

Now, you can find a dedicated tile with the familiar “Shazam” logo whenever you pull down (or up, for Touch-ID-enabled devices) your control center.

How to Use It to Recognize a Song

Only open your control center and tap the “Shazam” tile anytime you need to remember a tune. It’s going to turn blue and begin pulsating. Initially, the tool will ask you for permission to use your device’s microphone. Then, after a few seconds of waiting, the song you are listening to will be identified and a notification banner will be sent, leading to the official Shazam website containing all the information about the song.

Today, one of the special enhancements to this feature is that Shazam can now detect and recognize a song you are playing on the computer itself. For those who like listening to random playlists during their spare time, this is a pretty useful feature.

Shazam In Control Center

When it comes to identifying songs you hear in public or on the radio, Shazam is one of those apps. However, to launch Shazam would need to look for the app, launch it, or you can also launch Siri and use Shazam through it. However, Apple is hoping to make the process a little faster.

The company has recently released iOS 14.2 in beta form to developers and one of the changes that was spotted was how Shazam now can reside in your Control Center. This means that at a tap of the Shazam button in Control Center, you can start identifying songs already. It also seems that this feature is particularly useful when you’re watching videos or inside of an app or wearing AirPods as it will also be able to identify songs through them.

Some users had previously complained about Apple’s decision to remove the Shazam widget from iOS, but now it looks like you will have a new and possibly better way of using the feature. Apple acquired Shazam a couple of years ago and has worked to try to get it more tightly integrated within iOS, and this new change in iOS 14.2 seems to be headed in that direction.

Right now iOS 14.2 is only available in beta to developers and we’re not sure when it will be ready for the public. In the meantime, iOS 14 was released just yesterday so if you haven’t updated yet, you might want to consider doing so.
